Nicholas J.C. Moore was born on 19 May 1958 in London, England. He studied zoology at Bristol University (1976-1979). After visiting Greece on a regular basis (1976-1980), in 1982 he moved to Chania, Crete,and worked with John Craxton. In 1991 he returned back to London, while maintaining a studio in Greece. In the period 1997-2000 he divided his time evenly between Syros and London. Since 2001 he has been based on Syros Island. He curated the 2 nd Annual Group Exhibition Municipal Collection of Ermoupolis Syros (2009).
