Zolotakis was born in 1963 in Athens. In 1983 he began his studies at the Minerva Art Academy in Groningen – Holland. In 1988 he graduated in graphical design and photography and in 1990 in computer graphics, silkscreen and painting. In 1990 – 1991 he worked as ‘artist in residence’ at SCAN (the former National Institute for computer graphics, animation and multi media).
