Zacharias Arvanitis was born in 1947 in Athens, Greece. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Art – ASFA (1969-1973), painting under Yannis Moralis and stage-design under Vassilis Vassiliades. In 1975 he was awarded a scholarship from the National Organization for the Study of Greek Handicraft to study stage and costume design at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs – ENSAD in Paris. In 1976 he was appointed assistant of Yannis Moralis at the A’ Studio of Painting, and eventually became Substitute Professor directing the aforementioned studio.

Zacharias Arvanitis took part in the following group exhibitions: Silent Dialogues: Multimedia Portraits Throughout Time, ACG Art Gallery, The American College of Greece, Athens (2008); and The Open Mind of Lafcadio Hearn, ACG Art Gallery, The American College of Greece, Athens (2009).

Zacharias Arvanitis continues to live and work in Athens.
