Stacia Blake is an Irish Artist, born 1952. She lives in Stradbally, Co Laois, Ireland.“Her current work entitled “Piece Work” remember’s the victems of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
She has been working on this body of work since 2006. Stacia need’s to be in the right frame of mind to work, free from the chatter of the outside world, “ in a space where I am uninterupted ,where my mind is free,to enable my work to flow.” “I do not concsiously chose the subject of my work, in a strange way it seems to choose me.”
It is important for me as an artist, not only to create works but also, to utilize the enviroment in which the work is shown, to create a peaceful place for the viewer to be, and have a diologue with the work.
